In case anyone was wondering, we beat Wyoming 32-14. It wasn't the big blowout we've grown to expect for a first game, but Wyoming was actually a decent team, so it was understandable. Even though the score seems close, Wyoming wasn't ever really a threat. If anything, we were more of our own enemy, making rookie mistakes left and right (too many sacks on Chris Leak, Leak dropping the ball, bad snaps, missing extra point kicks, etc). Hopefully everything will come together before we play Tennessee in two weeks. Eep!
Other notes from the game:
1) GET TO THE GAME ON TIME PEOPLE! If you show up late, you won't have a seat. I don't care if you're holding a ticket, it's just not going to happen. The rest of us made it here on time, I'm sure you could too (unless you're in a block, like us. then it's excusable).
2) If you do show up late, don't be an asshole and threaten to get the cops to get people off your seats.
3) GATORS! You step on the bleachers IN FRONT OF YOU. Then you SIT on the seats BEHIND you. It's not that hard of a concept here. Which makes more sense? Simply stepping forward onto the bleachers in front of you or having to climb up on your actual seat? It's not that hard.
4) If you come in late, and get the cops to come verify your seat, thus screwing up everyone around you because you're now standing on your own seat, while everyone else in the entire stadium is stepping forward, don't act surprised when the people around you talk shit about you for the rest of the game and throw you lots of evil looks. We might have been nice to you otherwise, but now we've got four extra people in our row causing us to be jammed like sardines, so no, we don't like you right now.
5) To the cops controlling the crowds last night: It is utterly pointless to try to get the entire student section to step down from the bleachers. I know you figured this out eventually, but between the drama with the late-comers and then your silly attempt at "safety", I missed a quarter of the football game. And ended up standing on the bleachers anyway!
6) Hellz yeah to having 90,707 Gator fans (maybe like 20 of those were from Wyoming) in the Swamp last night! We broke the state record for attendance to a football game!
