Yeah, that one changes a lot so it seems to be highly unlikely. Although the other restaurants are pretty likely.

Yarr.

That is soooo crazy, I can't imagine living somewhere like that. Here I was feeling like Gainesville was the wilderness. Well, that's also partly because of the freaking squirrels, trying to maul innocent young girls for their chicken nuggets. :'( Still not happy about that.

Hey, even D.C. had crazy squirrels and it's a huge place!

The squirrels are evil everywhere.

Oh I have a thing or two to say about the moronic city planning that is going on in Arcadia right now. People have no clue what shit they're getting themselves into by starting to develop sprawl just like places like Port Charlotte - does Port Charlotte have a soul? No. Traffic and crappy restaurants and endless rows of strip-malls? Ugh.

There are so many ways that Arcadia could choose to grow smartly and carefully and maintain its charm while also getting some amenities. We DO NOT NEED A FUCKING MALL, but we could use some more LOCAL businesses that would engage people in leadership and building the community rather than just punching in for underpaid hours at the latest chain.

This raises my blood pressure.

(I saw a lot of this when I was at home working with hurricane recovery stuff. so now I'm even more interested in it than I was before.)

I agree completely. Port Charlotte has no soul whatsoever. It's just concrete and commerce. No sort of character at all.

I am absolutely terrified of Arcadia becoming that.

that started happening where I live about 5 years ago. It started with a Target and a Best Buy, and within the past year the area has exploded with Chain Restaraunts and I try to avoid that area of town. Unfortunately, politcians are always looking for ways to increase the area's economy and will jump on it when they get the chance. I hope your area stays nice. =)
