(no subject)
Just watched Lost in Translation again. I love the movie to death, but it always puts me in a mood. It was interesting watching it from my new perspective after dating a considerably older man. Scarlett Johansson is only three days older than me. She said in an interview that she can't see herself dating anyone younger than 30. Interesting.
So beautiful, that movie. It's definitely one that you either love or hate, no in between. But it always makes me wonder about the people that hate it. Wonder why the connection isn't there for them... what I see that they don't. Much the same for Eternal Sunshine... or Garden State (although it's trendy to like Garden State, so maybe that's not a good example).
Yesterday I had lunch with Rob and Bob (yeah, you heard right) at Satchel's. Very yummy salad/pizza and good company. My first time meeting this Bob (I know two Bobs now! lol), but good times for sure. Afterwards Rob and I went to see Bob get his first tattoo. The tattoo artists were all funny and we had fun joking with them in the lobby. One was named Rob, so then there was Rob, Rob and Bob. Oh my.
The tattoo artist doing Bob's tattoo (I later found out he was the same guy that did Mishy's tattoo) let us go back to watch. We only stayed for the first bit though because we didn't want to make Bob laugh and have the guy screw up because of us. It made me want a tattoo, but there's no place to hide it. If I were male, I'd definitely have tattoos. Still want to get my nose pierced though. Hmmm...
Today Mishy came over and we did a bit of sunning/swimming at the Lexington pool. I think I got a little bit of color... my Irish skin doesn't really like to turn any darker than "blindingly white". Ah well, fun no less. Afterwards we went to Panda for chinese food/sushi. Hadn't had sushi in forever, so it was really good =).
Afterwards I finished playing Escape from Monkey Island. Took me all of three days, but it was oh-so-fun. Many, many memories of playing Curse of Monkey Island at Summer Gifted in middle school. Good ol' Guybrush Threepwood. LOL. Yes, I really am a nerd.
