Not much going on in Liz world.

Counting down until the semester is over, really. Looking forward to the band trip this weekend, especially now that Shannon and Jessica (j_theburninator) are meeting me at Islands of Adventure on Saturday so I don't have to feel stupid for being the only band alumni there (Shannon goes to UCF, Jessica goes to USF.. they're both a year younger than me). Plus I haven't seen either of them in a hella long time, so it should be fun. Current drum major Ashley messaged me earlier... she didn't get into UF either, so she'll be going to USF. We hadn't talked in a really long time and she about had a cow when she found out I was coming on the trip this weekend. lol. As we were reminiscing about the good ole days of band...

Jarad messaged me. For those who don't know, Jarad was my boyfriend my sophomore year of high school. We met in band when he was a senior and I was a freshman, which makes him 23 now, I believe. Anyway, he's back in Arcadia after moving all about after we broke up, so he wants to see me when I'm home in between school. I haven't seen him since Summer '03 I think, so I agreed. Should be interesting... he keeps telling me I was the love of his life, so I'm a little worried (especially considering that two years ago he was engaged to someone other than me... yet I'm still the love of his life?) about what this will be like, but it will be interesting none the less.

On a completely unrelated note, apparently my parents have completely redecorated our living rooms. Apparently our front living room has been repainted and the other living room now has leather sofas/recliners. Then my Dad's cave (aka his music/computer/tv room) has our old leather recliners in it... no more love seat. I think the love seat is out with the pool table now, while our plaid sofas have been given to my grandparents. Apparently this took a LOT of struggle from my parents to get my grandparents to accept them, but hallelujah!

This is a minor miracle. For those of you who have been to my grandparents house (I guess just Katie and Dustin? maybe Sarah?), you can attest to how AWFUL the sofas were. Little did I know those were the ORIGINAL sofas that they bought when they purchased the house. HOLY CRAP! They'd been reapolstered(sp) over the years, but that means those sofas were roughly 50 years old (my mom was a toddler when they moved to that house). We frequently have family dinners at my grandparents' since it's easier for us to go to them, but none of us wanted to stay long because we could never sit comfortably. There were literally pieces of wood under the "cushions" to keep us from sinking into the floor. Thank goodness those things are gone.

Other goals for being home during break: At least one trip to Englewood Beach, visit to the high school to see Sulzman, maybe visit Mrs. M if I can figure out when a good time would be as not to piss her off, see part of drum major tryouts, SLEEP, take pictures around Arcadia of the progress after Charley, help my parents pick out a paint color for my room (my wallpaper is fading and my parents are on a home improvement kick), attend band banquet.

Finally, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SHANNON! (shaynester). Sorry I wasn't able to make it tonight, but I hope it was great fun! Hopefully I'll be back in time Saturday to make it to Shots and Tots.
