(no subject)
GAAAAAAH. I hate losing entries. That one was important and I have no drive to go back and retype it now. Sooo... bullet form. DAMMIT.
+ visited DM from 5-7 a.m. with Amanda H.
+ Patrick was crashing, so I had to use all my dancer buddy powers to keep him awake and having at least a little bit of fun.
+ After many backrubs and random goofy-ness from me, he finally started to come around. When I left he was bouncing a ball and dancing again.
+ I gave him my lucky string (aka, a random string off my shirt), which to my surprise, he ended up keeping for the rest of the event (some 10 odd hours). I doubt the string made it out of the Odome, but it was a good moment.
+ Slept from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
+ Woke up to find a message from Waxlax Jr. saying Patrick needed me.
+ Ran to get him a smoothie and then headed up to DM.
+ Made it to the floor again, this time Patrick was soooo out of it. Incoherent and zoning out. I told him it was a preview of his 21st bday on Tuesday =).
+ Spent the rest of the time in the stands... got to see Jamie, the grandlittle Anna AND my first little Danny. Yay for my littles =).
+ Danced the end of the ceremony away with Waxlax Jr. and Mike W.
Awards ceremony, Phi Sig = Orange Catagory, second highest.
+ Phi Sig won first place for both spirit and money raised.
+ Awesome because this was our first time in this catagory (last year we were in the third highest), we were the only unpaired organization in Orange (most frats and sororities pair together) and...
+ For money raised: Third place was $11,000ish, Second place was $12,000ish and we came in First with $15,700ish. Not even close.
+ Then Cooper won a special award for DM, which ended up making me cry because it's a really big deal. Janet, one of our alumni, got to present the award to him... so she was crying, then Cooper was crying... then I looked over and saw Travis crying and I just absolutely lost it. Everyone was crying in the end. Yay for Cooper!
+ Afterwards went to dinner at Momo's with Mike W, Alex, Mishy, Amanda H, and initiates Shirley and Kathy. Very good times.
