SG election results, the first round at least, have been announced via The Alligator I'm quite amused following the reporter's play by play of the events.
Gator party pretty much won alllll of the Senate seats, meaning Patrick lost. But the Gator Party and Impact will have a run-off for the executive ticket. Anyone else flashing back to last year's election? RIP Keg Party =). Apparently Travis and Aaron went to the event tonight because the Alligator reporter quoted Travis as saying something about being tired of the "douchebaggery". Awesome.
The reporter's commentary of the Iron Fist party is hilarious... I wish I had been there:
Along with minions of Dan "Iron Fist" Fitzpatrick, who marched in about 30-strong dressed in black and wielding gardening implements, clubs, pool sticks and frying pans chanting "Rape, kill, pillage and burn." And the night remains yet young.
And then the other parties began chanting their own things... including "Ain't no party like the Impact party 'cause the Impact party don't stop."
The crowd thinned somewhat as University Police escorted out the Iron Fist minions for wielding weapons inside the Brew. However, the group was allowed to return minutes later after laying down its weapons, chanting "The cops said we can come back." And the contest for catchphrase of the evening continues...
"I thought we had a better chance," Progress Treasurer Brian W. Davis said as he followed his party members.
Iron fist minions also are leaving, though not so sedately as their new chant rises above the din - "Democracy has failed."
Oh-so-witty. Guess this means I have to wear my Impact sticker/beads next week too. And vote again. Next week I'll wear my Keg Party shirt AND the Impact sticker/beads. Yay?
