Lost and BSG are the only to shows on TV I watch, and so I know exactly what you're talking about in terms of the parallels, and I agree wholeheartedly.

And while last nights episode of Lost was the first one this season that I thought had tempo issues, I think the writers have done an excellent job of telling stories within the big stories. Which is where I think BSG is failing. The small stories don't seem to be related to the big stories...heck, none of the stories seem related.

But I do disagree about the thinning out of secondary characters. While I'm sure I would be less upset if I'd been getting a steady diet of Athena, Helo and Anders, instead we've seen more of Tory Tigh and Tyrol than we have most of the primary players. I get that they are the final four, and that I'm supposed to be interested in them, but it's just not happening for me.

hm, well, I guess I really don't see BSG that way, like, at all. *g* I think it's ALL related. Or at least I can guess where it could connect up, even if the show ultimately proves me wrong. But then part of my enjoyment of the show is and always has been sliding everything into a single narrative. I like making all the disparate pieces fit and speccing on the direction, and for me, none of that has changed. In fact, to my mind, this season is the most obviously planned and every thing DOES count toward the finale, it's just the puzzle of HOW ( ... )
