Tee vee!

harumpf. I don't know why I can't do this fic - obviously my hind-brain thinks there's something wrong with it, and I keep telling it -"JUST WRITE THE DAMN PORN" but instead I've read fifteen pages of LOST forum pages.

So now you know I'm crazy. Cuz Kate is not my favorite character, but man, is there a TON of bashing - page after page after page. And it's moderated -- I hate to think what a non-moderated forum is like. *shudder* It's making me like her, just out of sheer spite.

Oh, and some of you will find this familiar -- apparently the actress is TEN YEARS YOUNGER than her on-screen romantic partners. OH THE HORROR! STFU people.

It's interesting, poking around over there. I find a lot of the comments about the episode's pacing and structure very eerily similar to comments about this season's BSG. I think some people are having a bit of a struggle figuring out that the era of the stand-alones in both shows IS OVER. Both shows have definite end points now and both are arc-ed out to that ending (with, I'm sure, SOME wiggle room in LOST, because their end is still two seasons away, and lots of things can happen in between). Both shows have giant ensemble casts spread out all over hell, so some storylines simply can't fit in a given episode, and both shows are thinning out that cast so there's not quite so many people to deal with (a.k.a. secondary character blood bath). So many similarities, even in the fandoms.

So anyway,

I like that the flashforwards are now starting to form a sequence - a future history in a sense, at least of the Jack, Kate, and Hurley side of things. Now we just have to figure out how the Sayid -Ben side fits in.

Aaron with his stuffed killer whale made me choke up a little, since my little guy loves toting around a stuffed blue whale.

Poor Rousseau - I was hoping she would actually make it after all. *sniff* But we're definitely thinning the herd the last few eps. I hope we still somehow get her story, though unless we go to the flashback format next year I don't know how that could happen. But, maybe it's better she stay mysterious and cool, rather than turn mundane. But I want more Mira Furlan on my television, stat!

Rose once again proves she's the most sensible person on the island. As others have said, she doesn't say a lot, but what she says is always Very Important.

Jin is a badass, of course. Though I'm still trying to figure out WTF Charlotte's purpose is, in all this. I can see why Widmore/his flunkies would get Miles and Daniel. Naomi was meant to be the heavy. But Charlotte? Aside from her mad Korean skillz (heh), she doesn't seem to have a purpose on the team yet. But methinks she's going to be the method Sun gets off at the least.

It is funny over at the forums that people have been bitching about the Kate-Jack-Juliet triangle, and yet now that Juliet has, to appearances, bowed out of it, they're bitching about THAT. *rolls eyes*

Claire!! NOOOOOOOOO! That was not how I wanted baby Aaron to get separated from her and become one of the O6. Hopefully they'll find her eventually... And what the HELL did "Christian" say to her to get her to leave? Or was she somehow, er, bewitched into it?

* * *

And, speaking of Dead Daddies who are not really their daddies and making their children/loved ones do bad things...

Supernatural: Long Distance Call

I'm glad I can now watch the show live, since it was conflicting with Lost, and well, Lost won once it started. Since I can never be bothered to actually watch eps that I have stored for some reason, this is my first Supernatural in four eps, I think. Something like that. (I am however, completely spoiled for everything in between, since I always read people's reactions and the recap).

Anyway, it was kind of like slipping back into a comfy sweater. It's not a show I THINK about too much - it's lacking to me in the kind of puzzles and meta that I like in Lost and BSG. But I do like the creepy episodes and the individual characterizations of Sam and Dean are, always, the most important bits of the show. Both Sam and Dean are totally fraying at the edges, snapping at each other, Dean grasps at straws ...

And I want to know whether JDM ACTUALLY phoned it in. *snorfle*

This was definitely a creepy episode. Ringing telephones that aren't attached to the wall are ALWAYS hella creepy, by definition. Little children who then ANSWER said creepy telephone also are creepy.

Someone called it the Verizon!Demon. Awesome!

ONLY TWO MORE EPISODES! That's gotta mean a cliffhanger doesn't it? *whimper*

I am totally unspoiled for both these shows so don't go telling me stuff, 'mkay?

In the meantime, I am VERY SAD that I can't watch full streaming eps of BSG during the day anymore (DAMN YOU SKIFFY!). It was fun to discuss with east-coasters when they're, like, awake. :(

bsg, supernatural, lost
