Happy Holidays!

I hope everyone out there had a happy Christmas/Haunika/Soltice/yule/Kwanzaa (does anybody on my f'list even celebrate Kwanzaa?) filled with family, food, friendship, and other forms of earthly joy.

I have been away from lj for a while, basicly because life has been extremely busy, even though I've been off work for three days. *GLOW*

Had a lovely three days off. Christmas Eve we spent with my dad, where he fed up till it came out my ears and gave us a bunch of sweets and booze. Including the traditional coal candies. ^_^ I love that my dad always gets me some kind of coal (usually edible); I know I'm a brat.

He also gave us a 45$ movie gift card, which we ended up spending on The Spirit and extravagance at the concession counter. Why not? But I'm getting ahead of myself.

Christmas dinner proper we had with the in-laws, and HOLY CRAP was that awesome, and WOW did they spoil the crap out of us. Among other things, I got a gorgeous necklace I can't stop wearing, The Tales of Beedle the Bard, two bottle of sparkly nail polish (navy and purple), and a pair of fuzzy green slipper socks with felt tree ornaments on the side. We also collectively got 20 worth of gift certificates for the cheepies cinema, and 100$ in a card. Yeah. Crazy. Mike got a shovel (don't ASK) and a copy of Storm Front, which means YAY now I can read it. ^_^

Boxing Day we went shopping (SHOCK!) and picked up The Goonies for cheep (6$!) and they hand a deal on the Complete Indiana Jones set which was more than mike had left but less than anywhere else we'd seen, and one day only, so I gave him half my gift money, because... well, dammit, I love my husband, and he is the biggest Indy fan ON THE PLANET and seeing him this stupidly happy is WORTH half my xmas money. ^_^

Then we went to the comic book store, saw christianmystic, and I was able to ask him if he'd lend us his copy of The Pretender S1 (so I can understand what half my effing f'list is TALKING about these days ;P) and we're picking that up tomorrow when we see him for gaming. And while we were there, he showed off the cool stuff they had in, including soimething he knew I'd love (and he was right) the plushie DRD they got in. Well, it cost exactly how much I had left over from buying Indy for Mike, so hey! It was fate! And now I has a plushie DRD, and he is KYUUUT and SKWOOSHIBLE and MINE!!!

Saterday I had to work, so I came to the Angel game late, not that I missed much. The bickering and bullshit had gotten even worse, but it was very nice to see karma come and bite a Certain Someone who shall remain namesless in the ASS (or rather in the EGO, which is even bigger and HURTS more). >:P But it was good to ee and hang out with LARPy friends again, and c3nobyte who is AWESOME gave me a bday/xmas gift - two bags of homeade herbal tea, custom blended for immune system boosting. ^_^

Sunday was a very MEH day, nothing of intrest aside from being so goddamn busy I couldn't finish this post and had to do it today. Jeez! These people! Don't they know I come to work to get lj and fic done? XD THAT WAS A JOKE. PLEASE DON'T FIRE ME. FNORD.

I have recived lots of lovely lovely cards, thank you all; I will be doing a proper individual thanks yous once I'm at home and can, you know, SEE them and who sent what.

And te other thing I spent a vast majority of my xmas vacation doing was watching Doctor Who, gads and gads and gads of it. A more detailed post to follow, for the benefit of who_daily. ^_^

[ETA Oh yes! As far as the fic pressies go, I *AM* still working on them, but it's been $@^%ing hard, with various problems - I'm trying to get them all out by the end of the 12 days of Christmas, ei before epiphany.]
