This really blows...
So I woke up this morning anxious to see how the elections ended up in the country and in Wisconsin. I must say that I've never been so crushed to see that not only did Wisconsinites approve amending the constitution, they also approved reinstating the death penalty. I just don't get it. How can you support killing other people? I realize the whole eye-for-eye thing, but I feel like that didn't necessary include a life-for-life, and more importantly isn't that a really antiquated and barbaric way of resolving the issue? I guess I can't really speak on the subject because I've never had anyone near to me murdured, but I can say that the death penalty has dispropotionately been used against minorities and particularly blacks so I think I can speak on that. DNA evidence is not infallible proof, it's good proof, but not be-all-end-all. Jeez, I don't even know what to say. I really don't.
