The blip below was originally emailed to Nan on 9/18, then shared with Eryn a week or so ago.  It's at least the starting point for the changes that are going on within me right now.

Joey and Ronnie came home to visit this weekend, and along with Mom, came over to our house to visit.  While he was here, Joey replaced the belt on my car - WOOHOO - and I took lots of pictures of Ronnie, age 2.5.  He is such a little character and I love him to pieces.

I intended to post an update on weathering Hurricane Ike, but now I'm tired and not in the mood to go through it all tonight, so sometime tomorrow or this weekend I'll update.

As school started in late August, my 18 year old cousin Katie was required to submit a short, personal essay for her English Comp 101 class. She chose to write about our cousin Graham, who passed away from Lymphoma this past May. Katie's essay is sweet and poignant and I'm positive that Graham absolutely loved it.

Some pictures from the Turtle Rescue that Andy and I went on Saturday.   Wading (and falling) through several feet deep mud and muck, we caught a total of 22 turtles (sliders, soft shells, mud turtles, and cooters - never did catch the snapper) and 56 fish (alligator gars, giant plecos, pike and carp).   Another group went back Sunday morning and ( Read more... )

My cousin Graham lost his battle with cancer last night about 9:30pm.  He was exactly 23 years and 2 months old.

Last night, I was singing the song Let My Words Be Few, and as I got to the chorus, I had a brief vision of Graham, standing before Them on the throne, cracking jokes.

My 23-yr old cousin Graham was diagnosed last year with Burkitt's lymphoma.   We got the call today that his fight has escalated very quickly and he's about to lose the battle.  It's now just a matter of hours.  Please pray for a peaceful passing for him, and for strength and peace for the rest of us.

Thank you everyone who has been praying for my cousin Graham.  Please keep those prayers coming - they're working!

Graham is now eligible for a 2-year research study and his dr is trying to get him enrolled as quickly as possible.  It might not be the complete healing miracle we've been praying for, but it IS an answer to prayer and one we'll gladly ( Read more... )
