Glee really does get everywhere

“Lord, you are tired. The agent in that big, bad black Ford Expedition, the spitting
image of the football player on Glee- oh, you probably don’t know that, either,
it’s only the best show on TV and I can’t imagine you don’t love Jane Lynch, unless
you don’t know who she is, since you probably didn’t catch The L Word, but maybe
Best in Show or Talladega Nights? My God, what a hoot. The Bureau boy in
the black Ford looks exactly like Finn-“

Cornwell, Patricia, Port Mortuary, Little, Brown, UK, 2010, p.312

This amuses me, because I was only just talking about crime fiction yesterday (or was it the day before?) and how I wanted to get back into reading it. Obviously the way to encourage me is to bring Glee into it somehow. And the best part? It's not even me reading this book right now, but my dad. He came running back downstairs after going to bed last night just to show me this paragraph! My parents have a gleedar that nearly rivals mine, I think. When there was the performance on The X Factor last year, I didn't even know about it but my parents happened to see in the info that Glee was mentioned so set it up to record for me.

Patricia Cornwell isn't even my favourite crime author, although I have read a few of her books and watched the film adaptations of a couple of them that were on TV a little while back. If Port Mortuary ever gets made into a film, clearly they need Cory Monteith to play this mysterious Fed so that this line can be included. It really makes me laugh when characters in films make reference to the actors playing them - like in Ocean's Twelve when 'Tess' disguises herself as Julia Roberts, or in the Scream movies when they say that Dewey was lucky to have David Arquette play him in the 'Stab' movies. Major lols.

Today is one of those days where I'm really lacking enthusiasm to do much of anything. I had plans to do some hoovering and stuff but I don't really feel like it. My brother would like me to have a look at his essay and give him some advice - he seems to think that because I studied English at university, that means I'm able to help with all essays. Even the ones on books/plays/short stories I've never read. So lucky me gets to go read up on Othello, woo~ And I thought my Shakespeare-studying days were over...
