Gym Tonic

Jul 18, 2005 20:26

As opposed to some popular belief, I have never worked out in a gym. I guess it is fair to say that if I was so crazy over running and swimming some years back, I am probably a gymmie person. Beep! Wrong. I never fancied the gym because I do not like the feeling of being a mouse-in-a-wheel who runs believing that there is something at the end of the wheel.
I love the feeling of running outdoors.
I love the breeze. I love the sun.
I love travelling the distance!
I LOVE... I LOVE... *sizzles off*

Well, the big fat truth is that I too succumed to the comforts of running on a treadmill in a heated gym during winter. I have not really been exercising well.Sigh, I feel like a blob. Wonder how many of you would remember the green goo-ey stuff in Ghostbusters. Basically, you can sit around in the house and take the shape of any space if you sit there long enough to spread homogeneously across the space. *Blob.Blob.Blob* That's me taking the shape of the chair I have been sitting on while typing this entry. *Blob* Wow! I moved my arse and that is now slowly blobbing in its new position.

Anyway, after splurging AUD$140 on a so cute pair of shoes. See below.

As I was saying, after splurging on the above pair of shoes...
*oh! isn't it just so cute and chic!* love it!*
Jul and I decided to head back to her house and fix ourselves some dinner. Then the thought of going to gym came to mind after the *blob* topic came up during one of our earlier conversations. We headed for the gym at Jul's apartment block for some real kick ass workout.(Jul has NEVER had real physical contact with the gym equipment during her 2 & a half years stay in the apartment block...wow...she is going to kick my arse for revealing this)
We were sweating a far bit in the gym although it seemed to be a result of the strong downlights shining down on us and not really us working it out. To be fair, we did one whole hour of gym... I was equipment-hopping the whole time, but managed to stay on the treadmill for 30 mins. It is appalling that I only burnt off 240 calories after running like a mouse on the wheel. Ok, not exactly like running but close to running. Ok, walking...BRISK walking. We had a hearty meal of pasta after that. Yum. *Blob Blob*

Oh... I am missing some important information in this blob...blog. I am going home! I paid for my air ticket today just so that I could miss the increase in airport tax due in a couple days time. It is an obscene sum of nearly AUD$280 tax only for a return ticket. That is a whooping S$350! Such gross indecency! Never mind that, I am happy to be going home!
Before I conclude, congratulations to Ah Keow for starting her blog! Good on you gal!
