Ive been following the exact same pattern in terms of exam study.
Study from 2-4... then go out and do.. well whatever really.. anything BUT studying, usually an attempt at Christmas shopping.
And THEN come home and study from 9-2. Yep its pretty productive. Meh ITS ALMOST OOOOVER!
