Leaving for Cuzco

Today we're leaving for Cuzco. It's a 21 hour bus ride OF DOOM. We're going to stay in Cuzco for 5 nights.

Yesterday Rosita and I spent a day exploring Barranco while Marcelo lead a hiking group. He's in an organization that goes on day and weekend hikes outside of Lima some weekends. It's called Aire Puro. I hurt my knee so I'm taking it easy so I'm not hurting badly at Machu Picchu etc.

Marcelo left really early. Ruthy dropped me off at Rosita's around noon. We took a taxi to the next district, Barranco, and walked around [pretty slowly with lots of breaks]. We ended up going down to the beach and sitting on some steps for a few minutes.

She ended up taking me to a really nice buffet restaurant called Rustica on the beach. We had an awesome view and I tried lots of different Peruvian dishes. We went back to the buffet 4 times! I have no idea how long we were there. But I definitely needed a nap afterwards. We walked around some more and looked at all the neat architecture in Barranco. It's one of the oldest districts in Lima -- so it has the architecture that I like.
