So I'm babysitting for another family last night who lives a few streets away, while my sister, her friends, and my parents are out doing something for her birthday. My mom calls to say that the power is out at our house, and I should find a flashlight in case it goes out where I am. At this point there's like this crazy storm going on with intense winds. I get another call 20 minutes later. My mom was like "A tree fell, and its in our family room, but nobody was home when it happened" It was one of those WHAT moments. So my sister is freaking out and they ended up sending all of her friends to some one elses house, but when I come home my parents and I were sitting by candle light, in pitch black, because the power is still out (8 hours total) and I go check out the tree. Its not a whole tree in the room, but theres a hole in the wall with a branch sticking out, above a couch, where people could have been sitting. This morning I had to go take pictures for my and my neighbors insurance companies to look at. It's super intense looking, and a REALLY BIG TREE. I have been told that it missed all of the wiring, and it fell in between poles or something, so no internal damage, and it could have hit my parents bedroom window, and a hole bunch of other crappy stuff could have happened but all it did was dent our roof and make a hole. The whole town where I live is kind of chaotic and people are saying things like "The roof of my church fell off" or "It sounded like a train coming down the street". I'm feeling very George Carpe Diem right now.
