Not satisfied with his inquiries so far, Alexander proceeds to the source: David. He means to get answers with no obfuscation. No games. He even came unarmed. Finally he is shown to the door of the Spade King's study. Reminding himself to remain collected, he raises a fist and knocks firmly.

Anyone who hangs around or happens by the courtyard a few hours after the execution will find Alexander seated on a stool in front of the platform. Splayed knees under a leather apron balance the greatsword used in the execution as he carefully cleans the blade and hones away any damage incurred.

[Alexander is furious. No word, no assistance for three months, then his queen returns and undermines or countermands everything he's worked for. The nerve!
