I am an Obi-Won and Padme shipper in Starwars fanfiction. It's called Obidala, but I call it Botu. My friends and I have written a short Obidala novel based on the evidence of their love in the movies. The biggest evidence takes place in three scenes that I will now relate in chronological order.
Episode II: Attack of the Clones
--Beginning. Obi-Wan and Anakin are standing in the elevator, going to padme's apartment. Anakin says, "I haven't seen her in 10 years, Master!"
and Obi-Wan smirks. He laughs in an "oh but I have!' kinda of way.
--After they have the meeting. Anakin is whinning to JarJar, Obi-Wan comes back from a quick tour of the aprtment to say to tell him to focus on the present and that "She was glad to see us." . . . . us? US!! As in me(Obi) and you(Ani). Why would ObiWan care if Padme was glad to see him? He would if he was in love with her.
--In the arena on Genosis. Obi-Wan jumps onto the back of the Reek behind Padme, and she turns and places a hand on his UPPER thigh! You don't touch men there unless you know them in the all-the-way-better sense, in my opinion. So that means they slept together once or twice.
Based on that evidence alone (and trust me, we have TONS more) we started a little fanfic that has grown into a book we call Because of the Us, or BOTU.
And that's what I mean by Botu songs. I love hearing a song that is exactly Obi-Wan and Padme's story.
Examples:
My Confession, by Josh Groban
Congatualtions, by Blue October
Mr. Brightside, by the Killers
High, by Emmy Rossum
Far Away, by Nickleback
It is just about every other song that has to do with a man in love with his bestfriend's girlfriend, or loosing the love of his life, or being secretly in love, or just being toally and completely in love. I can twist any song to fit them, but the ones listed above seem as if the songwriters were inspired by botu! That makes them my favorite now.
I am in a really big Botu mood right now!
The book is nearly finished. Seriously. I am waiting for one of my friends to write the last missing pice, and then t will be completed. Kind of sad in a "it's over" kaind of way, but toally AWESOME in a "finally finshed a book" way. It was started in the 11th grade, so that's about three years now.
maybe I will post the story on here once it is tweaked and polished. . . .
