A few weeks ago, my brother shot me an email telling me how he was going to an Atlanta Hawks NBA game in April. Big fucking deal, right? Well, they had a concert scheduled for after the game, and it was by none other than MC Hammer.

I had my laughs and thought back to the days of wishing for a kiss and life, in that order. I'd forgotten about the email till about an hour ago, when he called me saying it was tonight. You know.. I honestly wish I could have gone to that. MC Hammer.. in 2005? Is that not totally insane? Wouldn't he be like 45 by now? Somehow, "U Cant Touch This" doesnt seem to be something that someone at that age should be discussing on stage. Many memories are recalled from when I saw him and his entourage in Buffalo back in 1990. I was in 6th grade. The Bills had yet to go to any Super Bowls. My parents were still married. Yes, it was lifetimes and infinity ago.

Going back to that night in 1990, I somehow remember alot. My friend Jeff's sister drove us in their parents big Crown Victoria that they seemed to have forever, as it was probably doing U-Turns when coming too close to dinosaurs. His sister Kim had some friend come along. I swear, there mustve been 20 of us in that car.

We picked up this girl as we went to the Aud downtown, and there was no more room in the already cramped back seat, so she layed across a half dozen laps. Her head was at my end, so I felt quite privileged at such an innocent age as I conjured up thoughts I didn't fully understand.

The show was crazy, full of those having trouble letting go of the era that boosted hairspray sales nationwide. Im pretty sure Vanilla Ice was an opening act. I'm 122.3% sure En Vogue was.

I still have the ticket stub in a scrapbook, along with some patch they gave away at the door.

MC Hammer. Unreal.
