So I'm slacking about updating. Oops. I spent the duration of the week sick, so I wasn't really in the mood to write. Yeah the cold I didn't want to get I caught. I ended up skipping practice Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday because I felt so bad. Well, no, Friday doesn't count. I felt okay by then, but my carpool didn't show up after the 3:30am fire alarm (yes, another one, grrr...) so I didn't go. It did feel nice to sleep in though. Kinda liking it. So I'm debating on whether or not I'm going this week. Yeah, probably should, I need the workout.
Remember how I said my best friend Kathy Lee is just a tad.... flighty? Uh huh. Her and Ryan broke up (sounds like this time for good) and so she is very interested in an apartment/house. I got the hookup with an apartment hunting company called Promove, who finds outrageously cheap apartments all over Atlanta, and I went up there today to find some. We got about six hits within downtown and a bunch around Morrow and Upper Riverdale. Not so happy about them, but we'll see. My parents are not going to be happy about this though, if we do decide to do this. I'll lose $650 for breaking my current contract, but Kathy has offered to pick up the first two month's rent to pay me back. Not a bad deal, but I don't think that'll sweeten my 'rents. We'll see.
So I did the apartment thing this morning, chilled for a while here, then picked Katie up from work at 6:15 and went to clean her apartment for the CREW PARTY at 10! Heck to the yeah baby! Her place was a little bit of a disaster considering she's only been there 3 weeks, but we cleaned everything in about two hours. Go us. We work well together. We even had time to go pick up some non-alcoholic beverages for her and I before our guests started arriving at 9:45. The party was wild as usual! Well, not as bad as the last one. There were only three people passed out and four puking this time, instead of everyone. Maggie still managed to find a guy to make out with (Tim) in the hallway, Kyle F. did his normal striptease, Jaro played paprazzi (as did I), and I played the sober role. I had a glass of wine to kick off the night, then some Diet Mountain Dew, followed by a Newcastle which I nursed for the remainder of the evening. This time it was fun being sober. I didn't have to take care of anyone. Yay! Even better, Katie didn't get wasted (she's on a dry season for crew) and leave for a gay bar during her party with my ID. Yep, happened last time. So Katie and I enjoyed watching everyone else make fools of themselves. I think her favourite phrase was, "Kyle, for the love of God..." Hehe... Once I get my pictures posted, I'll pass along the website. Not sure if I should be happy about this, but once Maggie had a few drinks, she was being friendly toward me again. It was very much like a return to old times, but I don't think it'll last. At least I know the girl I befriended is in her somewhere. All in all, it was a lot of fun, and I'm in a much better mood after leaving this party than last season's. And the quote of tonight had to come from Rod (Pooyah) when told to feel his first breast: "I can't! I have morals!" Awesome.
SIRA next weekend should be a blast. Three days of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Yee haw! Again, another time to stay pretty sober and take pictures. Heck yeah!
And now since it's the time I usually get up in the morning, I think I'll go to bed. :) Ah, the life of a college student. And tomorrow should be more cleaning (most likely at Katie's) with some studying thrown in there on the side. I do have an Optics exam to ... cram for. Ew. Cheers!
