Five. Deer.

One of them is still hanging out in the front yard of the house across the street.

Edit: The kids watched them go back and forth between various houses across the street. Meanwhile, I went to the kitchen to start supper. There were five more deer in the neighbor's yard out that way, too!

It's currently 9° and feels like -8°. Windchill is vicious! Without actually using a ruler, I'd guess we got 4"-5" of snow ( Read more... )

Neither of them is anywhere near the feeder we hung last week.

The White-Breasted Nuthatches have been around a lot lately, but again, nowhere near the feeder.

Saw a squirrel make a half assed attempt at the feeder this morning. He didn't make it, but he didn't really try, either.

I got most, if not all, of the rubbermaid containers unwrapped. No, not unpacked, just out of the cardboard they were packed in. It took over an hour just to do that. Unfortunately, I still haven't found the winter clothes, which is what finally emboldened me to wade into the Box Room and unbury the stuff at the back. None of the boxes labeled " ( Read more... )
