Brothers
What of brothers,
Must they be of blood?
Or are there others,
I knew a man
With the heart of Gabrielle,
He would always be there in a jam
To call him a friend was an understatement
He was a brother of a new kind
We said to each other only words that meant.
He and I share a bond,
Forged by God in Love,
We could never be separated by braud or blonde
No racial or political boundary.
Where ever we went the other we carried.
Deep in our very souls
We burned into ourselves each other.
Even though we had separate goals,
Ones that would carry us far away from one another,
We’d never forget the love
We shared as brothers.
Now he’s walked away,
And I can’t help but speak what’s on my mind
Even though there is nothing left I can say.
But he should know that whenever he is ready I am still here
It takes two to sever the bond.
I know in side his heart he is really still there,
I hope he follows it back to all of us here where the sun has dawned.
What of brothers,
Must they be of blood?
Or are there others?
I know of a different kind,
There are two forged in heaven.
The two I have in mind
Were joined in God as a family of seven.
What of brothers,
Must they be of blood?
No I know of others.
