On vindy.com, they have a message baord going on the newspaper article. Here are some of the replies I picked out to post;

This kind of thing would be so easy to stop. All the theaters have to do is post a sign that says "no unaccompanied minors" and enforce it. Last summer I was standing in line to see the movie "Garfield". Directly behind me was a mother with two boys about 7 - 9 years old. She was intending to buy them tickets and leave. The younger of the two boys was pleading with her not to leave him. He wanted her to stay and watch the movie or let him go with her. She was firm that she was not going to stay or take him with her. This youngster could have been the victim of abduction or could have misbehaved just to get attention and ruined the movie for everyone else. "Parents" like this need to have a little common sense imposed on them by the police if need be or social services. They are a disgrace.
In this case, there are probably no "parents" to hold accountable. Therefore, the business has to step in. How sad.
From now on, I will think twice before I patronize any theater that does not have some type of clearly stated policy for minors. It is not worth this kind of hassle and possible injury to see a movie.
Wise up theater owners. This is your business on the line!

First of all, no matter where you are from, what color you are, GIRLS SHOULDN'T FIGHT. But, look at YouTube and other websites. This is the new thing. Encouraging little girls to be savages. Showing off by hitting an authority figure. Its not always about the parenting either. There are some children who are "troubled" mentally. Maybe this is one of them. Its not about dropping your kids off at the theatre. I remember as a young teen going to the theater all the time without my parents. But, we knew how to behave!! I say close this theater down, or make it an over 18 only theater. The theaters down South have signs that say "children under 17 are not permitted to attend an R-rated movie after 7p".
Start a campaign...write letters to the theater owner...picket out front...you get enough people, it will change!!!

OMG! what the heck is wrong with these parents? And the girl? I really hope she goes to kiddy jail, the parents are fined and the theater is fined for contributing ti the delinquency of a minor!

I read on another board that the theater in question is overrun by kids from the southside and eastside as it is cheaper than other theaters in the area. I also read that the nearby Target had to hire a ton of security because these "animals" were robbing them blind. Is this true?

That theater better keep laying down the law or else they will close before you know it. When I hear stories of Youngstown animals jumping over the seats while a movie is running, throwing food at each other, talking loudly, etc., I can't believe that it has lasted this long. I would be interested to know what the crowds are like during the next two weekends. The animals have already ruined their city now they are migrating towards Boardman.

I do not go to the movies on a weekend night."
Oh, I'll go. I'm just not putting up with this nonsense. A stern word or a complaint to the manager should take care of a bunch of kids. Otherwise I want my money back and I'll take my cash somewhere else to spend.
