drama galore 2

to ease my bitterness of not being able to watch A1's concert tonight (and miss seeing Ben for that matter), let me just continue my post on the drama's i've watched lately...

Scent of A Woman

as this is lee dong wook's comeback drama i got curious on how he's changed. when i saw him i thought he looked thinner than before & it seems like he looked a lot older. but then i saw his shower scene & (again) i was like O_O. okay, i was wrong. it was just his face that looked thin but his body was well sculpted, if i may say so.

for some, wookie & sun-ah's pairing may seem awkward because of the age difference but i've seen sun-ah with hyun bin before so it wasn't such a big deal for me. besides their chemistry was okay in this drama. actually, this pairing reminded me so much of the samsoon-samshik pairing of MNKSS in terms of their characters. i rewatched My Girl after watching this drama & i noticed that wookie's acting then & now was pretty much the same. sometimes i think his expression lacks certain emotions and i'm not a fan of his looks when he cries but thankfully his character here is that of a cold, devil-may-care type of guy so it's passable. in fairness, i was able to feel the love they have for each other & the pain that comes along with yeon jae's sickness. i love it whenever ji wook would act cool infront of yeon jae despite him being really crazy about her.

another thing i really liked in this drama is the ost. i really fell in love with junsu's You Are So Beautiful and MBLAQ's You & I <3<3<3

i was a bit nervous on how they would end this drama but it ended okay...at least better than what i predicted...hehe!

Protect the Boss

at first i thought i wouldn't like this drama when i watched it because i felt the 2 leads weren't that good-looking...lol. heck, i even said jae joong's face looked weird (don't stone me yet jyj/dbsk fans!) on the first few episodes. but as i continued watching i found myself really enjoyng it. there are a lot of funny moments here & ji sung & choi kang hee really nailed their characters here. i was a bit annoyed of ji sung's mop hair at first but it eventually grew on me (and i think they improved the styling in the succeeding episodes). i liked how childish cha ji heon sometimes is. i liked how ji heon & mu won would fight like children. and surprisingly i liked jae joong A LOT in this drama. it's like a 360-degree turn for me from my first impression of him. this is my first time seeing him act and i'd say he looked so natural in here. i liked his style, his mannerisms, the way he delivered his lines in this drama.

actually after watching this (and dbsk's guesting on Running Man) i got addicted to dbsk & jae joong...lol

actually, i think that ji sung's character here is quite loveable in the sense that at times he can be so immature, stupid, cowardly, petty but at the same time, if he puts his mind & heart into it, he can turn into such a cool guy. and i liked it a lot how eun seol kicked butts whenever anyone pisses her or tries to step on her. not your usual damsel-in-distress leading lady...hehe! and another thing i liked is how the supposedly villains turned out to be good friends in the end. a happy ending for everyone i'd say.

Heartstrings

this drama was a so-so drama for me. i thought it was a bit dragging at the start. if only not for yonghwa i would have stopped watching this. my friend was already spazzing about yonghwa from the start of the drama but i think it wasn't until i was halfway through with it that i felt his character's presence. i dont know if it was yonghwa's lack of emotion in his expressions/acting or if i got so used to shin hye-geun suk's pairing that it was hard to picture shin hye w/ another partner (could it be they lack chemistry here?) or if i was used to seeing yonghwa's naughty & goofy persona in Running Man that it was hard to see him acting like such a cool & snob guy?

at any rate i was still able to finish the drama. and if anyone was a revelation here it was min hyuk. he was soooo adorable here. i thought he really gave justice to his character (to think this is his first acting job if i remember right).

but like You're Beautiful i also loved the ost for this drama!!! and there's nothing like watching yonghwa performing.

scent of a woman, review, heartstrings, protect the boss, kdrama
