A hurricane of Inspiration

Sep 08, 2004 20:40

So, Hurricane Frances smacked me around a bit, stole my cable, and two trees in my yard. But thats meaningless crap in the big picture of awesome me. The important thing is I have the rest of the week off, which means I found artistic inspiration!(Run for the hills!) Yeah, so, how did this inspiration come about? I tell ya fool. Me and my pal were geekin' out a few days ago on who was more villainous, Ganon from the Zelda series, or Sephiroth from FF7. Saving you from our logic of what villainy is, Sephiroth won via his kick-asparagus theme song, "One Winged Angel." So then I put pencil to paper and out popped Sephiroth. After a few re-draws, he was looking like the katana wielding, insane, momma's boy, long haired, leather touting, villain we all know and love. If my scanner wasn't crapped out, I'd post a few images. But my scanner is crapped out.....so I won't. Moving on, I dug out my dusty FF7 playstation disk, and started anew. Now I remember why it is my favorite game for all time. (...Okay, It took a while to adjust to those early PS1 graphics, but I adjusted none the less.) So now, I'm drawing Final Fantasy 7. And am improving daily. It's funny, I look back at a months old drawings, and I find silly mistakes I no longer make on proportion, etc. I guess my abilities are growing exponentially.( Well ,I like to think that...)

With no IB breathing down my back, I'm pretty mellow, so sorry, no rant this time. Oh, one last thing, forget EVERYTHING you learned about female proportions while drawing Tifa.....
