Arthur had waited around at the terminal long enough to make sure Ariadne - the youngest member of the team - managed to grab a cab to her chosen hotel. While they had succeeded in performing Inception and getting out alive, it would still take a while to see if it really worked (and if they really were in the clear ( Read more... )

Ariadne was in the bath when she got the text from Arthur. She'd been taking full advantage of not having to pay for hot water or having it run out. Not to mention the bath was enormous and lovely. Despite having spent the whole flight sleeping she had wanted nothing more than to lay out in the tub and decompress.

Carefully, she reaches for a towel to dry her fingers on before picking her phone up from the floor where she had left it for quick access. After the day she'd had she couldn't help but be a bit paranoid.

She blinked at the message and remembered the gentle warm brush of his lips against hers in his level. She felt her cheeks heat up a little as she remembered. In all the mess afterward she had forgotten about the kiss, but now it fixed itself in the front of her mind.

No. Did you have something in mind?

He's in the process of changing into a different - less formal - suit when he gets her response and types back:

Would you mind joining me? Nothing particularly fancy. Just dinner and talking.

She grins and hopes Arthur really means 'not fancy'. Besides the suit she traveled in all she had packed was a sundress and some of her usual jeans and tops.

Sounds great. Where do you want to meet?

She set her phone aside and pulled the plug on her bath.

Arthur can feel himself want to smile but settles for a smirk instead as he types the address to the restaurant a little ways down from his hotel. He saw it on the way here and, after looking it up, it seemed good enough for them to just go there and eat and relax after a very difficult, high-risk job.

He wanted to make sure Ariadne was okay and also see what plans she had now after the job had been completed. He was curious to know if she would go back to school or if she would continue with the new "skill" she had acquired?

In a way, if it was the latter, Arthur felt it was his responsibility to see that she work with good people (people Arthur knew could be trusted in this business and had some actual skill in what they did so she wouldn't be working with amateurs) and get good jobs. He didn't know why he felt like this about her but he did and thus, arranged for them to meet. He also found that he just wanted to see her again (which was odd for him but he wasn't going to dwell on it).
