My cinematographer friend Annie and I are trying to raise $15k (at least) of the necessary 50k by the beginning of April so we can go shoot in California.
We have been granted access to shoot in a psychiatric treatment facility in CA, and we are negotiating with five others across the country. There have been only three precedents to this kind of access in the history of cinema: Allan King's WARRENDALE and Frederick Wiseman's TITICUT FOLLIES (both made in 1967) and Lauren Greenfield's THIN (made in 2006.) We don't want it to be another 40 years before another film like this gets made -- we want to put our response into cinema now!
So please, please consider giving a dollar, reposting this all over the damn place, and maybe putting the URL in the signature line of your email. This film has the potential to change lives, and as you know, eating disorder advocacy is my mission in life. Thank you so much for helping to support this dream, helping to teach troubled teenage girls to shoot film (and thus find a passion to replace anorexia), and helping to change the world, a buck at a time.
