JET Concert

As stated before, the boys sounded absolutely fantastic. They were playing in a crummy little theater in Covington, Kentucky that holds only about 1500 people, at most. I don't think there were more than 800 or so there, which meant a pretty awesome spot for us only about 15 feet off the stage.

All of the awsomeness was despite the fact that this was Kentucky, despite the fact the acoustics in the theatre kinda stink, despite the fact half the crowd was only nominally interested, and despite the fact that the lead singer was more than half lit. They sounded great and played for 90 minutes straight. They hit their three big songs off the first album, but otherwise played entirely off the second - which suited me just fine.

chlsrae took tons of video with her cell phone, but I'll only post some of the highlights:
Hey Kids
Are You Gonna Be My Girl #1
Are You Gonna Be My Girl #2
Bring It On Back
Move On
That's All Lies

Plus a really cool pic.

Special mention goes to Shine On, which sounded amazing:

Shine On #1
Shine On #2

About halfway through, the lead singer jumped off the stage (the expression on the event staff's faces was priceless)and proceeded to make his way through the crowd to stand on a banister right behind us.

On the banister #2

After he nearly fell off (notice the wobble at the end due to aforementioned alcohol consumption), he came back through the crowd and I was literally right next to him. Very cool. They also had the entire theater sing Happy Birthday to a guy in the front named Michael, which was quite hilarious.

There was also a cool bit where the lead singer hopped up on the drumkit.

Again, can't say enough about how good they sounded live, which means quite a bit since this was really a pretty crappy little gig. High marks all around.

And as a special added bonus (and because I love to torture), I'll tack on the splendid video where chlrae realized after the fact that her cell phone did an excellent job picking up her lovely singing, not just the band's.

Move On #1
Move On #2
Move On #3
