It's only been three days, but I feel like I've been off my flist for a week at least. I had an absolutely fabulous weekend, though I'm now completely exhausted. Well worth it, though.
Friday started with my long postponed (3 yrs) visit to the doctor to address my migraine issue.
I've had migraines since I was 9 or 10, but I've always been too lazy to take meds dealt with them on my own. In the last couple of years they've become increasingly severe, to the point I'll go a couple of months at a time where I'll have one every day. So the past three months have been one of those times, but has also been compounded by the fact that I think I might possibly be depressed - I'm not really sure - based on some other symtoms. Anyway, I'm treating the migraines in the hope that the other problems are just an offset. Otherwise, bring on the happy pills. So Thursday I have to go for an MRI to make sure I don't have a brain tumor (I don't), and pray they don't decide to take even more blood than they did Friday.
Afterwards I ran to the comic store and picked up Buffy S08x03, the new Runaways, and the new Astonishing X-men. It was a Joss sort of day, it seems.
My sisters and mom came down Friday evening and we all took Cam to see Spiderman III. I will break now to offer my warning of DO NOT PAY TO SEE THIS MOVIE! It was absolutely, mockingly, shockingly bad - and keep in mind I liked the first two films. There was an evil!Peter dance sequence people. I am not kidding. The only redeeming qualities were the CG (duh), Topher Grace/Venom, and James Franco.
Saturday started with my sisters and I running the Cinti Flying Pig 5K, which was so much fun. The course runs along the river past Great American Ballpark and Paul Brown Stadium, which is quite cool, and we all received Flying Pig medals at the finish. I was also able to manage not to embarrass myself by being sick at the finish line - but it was a very close call. The best part was definately running it with my sisters, though. Since there is such a huge age gap between us (10 and 17 years), I don't often feel that whole bonding!sister vibe. I guess stuff like this reminds me I'm not an only child.
The afternoon was the usual Cam-centric activities of swimming and soccer.
Saturday night Chels, Monk and I went to see JET play down in Covington in this little dive theatre. They were awesome! I will post my full recap and squee a little later.
I'm now off to catch up on my beta responsibilities and finish watching The Lazarus Experiment
