Little Yuzu is Reading
The Sweetness at the Bottom of the PieAlan Bradley
It's been raining all day. I love it! Perfect weather for a warm cup of tea, methinks. :) I'd been looking for some pretty teacup and saucer sets. I have kawaii cups & mugs from Japan, but I wanted some with British flair. I've been on the lookout for
Wedgwood fine China pieces (Jane Austen used Wedgwood - it's that old). A few days ago I bought these beautiful teacups and saucers from the
Martha Stewart Wedgwood collection.
This particular
collection is called Aviary because of the birds in the design. I love blue and brown together. So very Martha. ;) For my inaugural drink from my new teacup & saucer set, I had Earl Grey loose tea. I tried to drink the tea without milk, hence the really black tea above. But after a few sips, I ended up adding milk and downing the whole cup. ;)
I'm off to a good start with my reading for the new year. So far I've finished reading six books since January 1, and I'm about nine chapters into
The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie. As with many books I read, I first gravitated to this book because I like the cover. Then when I found out it's a mystery novel that takes place in 1950s Britain, I had to read it. It's pretty good so far. Hope those of you who are participating in book challenges this year are doing well!
