Little Yuzu is Reading
Now and ZenLinda Gerber
I crocheted this turtle a couple weeks ago, but never got around to posting it. I didn't follow a turtle pattern for this, but rather took several patterns from my Japanese craft books and combined them to come up with this little turtle. I improvised the shell as I went along. I was trying to fashion a turtle similar to the
Kuma Kuma turtle I love so much. I named this cutie Hana Hana after the flower on her head. She's made with 100% wool (my favorite to crochet with) and measures 3¾" (9½ cm) sitting down.
I was about to start reading Stephenie Meyer's The Host last night, but instead grabbed a YA paperback off my shelf. It's a series called
S.A.S.S. (Students Across the Seven Seas), and each book focuses on an American girl who travels abroad to another country to experience its culture and learn life lessons. I read the one that takes place in London, and now I'm reading one that takes place in Tokyo. They make for nice, light reading. Sorry, SMeyer, you're going to have to wait. I'm still recuperating from Breaking Dawn.
