My dog Daisy loves to eat fabric. She has chewed through 5 out of 7 of our quilts and comforters.
I have always had my eye on a particularly gorgeous quilt, which I finally purchased. I didn't have it 12 hours before she tore a big hole in it and was happily chewing the corner of the hole. I had the quilt painstakingly and lovingly repaired, and you cannot see the tear, but I am petrified to put it on the bed.
I recently bought Christopher a new quilt because Daisy had eaten such a great hole in his old one that it leaked fluff and stuffing everywhere. Seriously, Daisy could crawl into the hole and come out with a mouth full of fluff. Since this purchase (it is a generic quilt, not very attractive, but functional) Daisy has not made any effort to eat it, so maybe she is over the whole quilt-eating thing...
I really want to use my beautiful quilt. The bedspreads we are currently using are the only two the dogs haven't chewed, and I hate them. They are old, and pilly and ugly and don't match the room. But I am terrified the dog (s) will chew up anything new I put down. What should I do?
