High Falls!!!

So, I was all worried for nothing. Today was totally awesome!

I fell down a lot.

I did three falls in all- the first two were somewhere between 20-25. Then on my last run I asked them to raise it to 30... then I thought, hell, what's five more feet? So I did one at 35 feet. For those of you not in "the business" anything over 30 feet is considered an official high fall. And rightfully so. Because that is fucking high. I will post pictures from my jumps as soon as I get some.

For me, the hardest part was standing on the lift waiting for my turn. It was all wet and rainy and nasty, the wind would blow, making the platform wave. And I don't like heights. It is funny, we watched the video, and I stay as far away from the edge as possible until it is my turn to go. But once I am at the edge, I take a couple of deep breaths and BOMBS AWAY! What a rush! Landing on the bag is really comfy, it goes "piff" (louder for some than others) and sucks you in, and then you roll until you find somebody's hands and they sort of pull you out.

Everyone did a great job, there was no one who refused to go at all. The people who were scared overcame it, and no one was injured. So it was a good day. The negativity from yesterday was gone, and everyone was good-natured and their usual happy selves. So that was really nice. After the falls (we had to stop after only about an hour and a half due to weather making the falls unsafe) we had a BBQ and looked and video footage and pictures on Trygve's giant movie theatre screen.

What a great day! Now I am home and it is only 3:00! I have a whole afternoon and evening to kick back and relax.

Yay for new adventures.
