I have four days left on the West Coast. I have been so ridiculously busy, and had the honor of presiding over the wedding of one of my soldiers this weekend which has taken up a great deal of my "catch up with friends and family" time but was entirely worth it. Tonight I had Vietnamese food with Susannah and an old friend of hers and her fantastic family. I was able to look one of my professors in the eye and tell her I was a diplomat. I can hardly sit still now. So many small things to fix, matters to address. After such a long time under the ground, I emerge and smell the blooming jasmine.
For the scores of events, comments, and the like that have happened to you all over the last week please forgive my absence on the screen. I assure you that you were in my frosty little heart all the while. Words, for what they might be worth, are on the way.
