Well, gee whilakers....I don't know when the last time was that I actually updated this thang....
I'll start off by saying that I must have woken up on the right side of the bed this morning. I am in the greatest mood and have a ton of energy. And, I have no idea why...nor will I question it cuz it's been a long time since I've been so..."bouncy"!
Hmmm...quick catch-up
Mom's Surprise Party:
Happened on the 13th and was AMAZING. It was a ton of work and late nights preparing for it, and the setup was UTTER CHAOS, but we pulled it off, and she was indeed surprised. She was so honoured, especially that so many people from far away had come...People came in from Lindsay, New York, New Jersey, Texas and California. Long story short---major success and new memories to last a lifetime.
Mom's Hospital Visit:
About 3 days after the party, she was rushed to Emergency. That was not fun. She was fragile and it was very scary. Belle and I rotated between staying with her at night and during the days. She made an amazing recovery and was discharged in less than a week...but after her hospital visit, the rest of us got pretty sick. The important thing...she's well now, and laughing about everything.
Work:
While I was at the hospital with Mom and then recovering from being sick myself, I have to say my management was totally supportive of me. Me being away from work was not good, particularly because I was gone at a critical time. They REALLY saved me, let me tell you. They assumed all the documentation (because our tech writer got sick too), and the PM did the training for me. I was worried about this very much, but they calmed me and reassured me that I should just forget about it all and focus on getting better. And then, they didn't even dock my days off---giving me Paid LOAs. They are amazing. As much as I could b!tch up and down about the place I work, I have to admit, my management rocks.
Love Life:
Let's just say it's there. It's not amazing, and it's not brutal. It's moving at a v-e-r-y slow pace. At times, I get annoyed with the pace, but then have to realize that it's good for me. In my past relationships they have moved far too fast---and truth be known, I want to take my time, I want to be friends above all else, and I want to enjoy it. So, I guess you could say, "so far, so good". He's a good guy. Actually, he's a great guy. We'll just keep going day by day and see what happens along the way.
Other than the above...not much else going on. I'm happy to be well again, I'm happy that I cleaned my apartment from top to bottom yesterday and everything is clean, shiny, and disinfected! I have a semi-sloth type of weekend, but it was good for me. I haven't had a really relaxing weekend in so long! I guess that's where all my energy has come from. It's amazing what resting and decent amounts of sleep can do for you huh?
OK. I better go. I better put all this energy towards the forces of good!
And away I go....
