Long Weekend
It's mostly cool and quiet here in my room, but the sound of the TV and Vic's video game are drifting down the hall and through the door, where the sunlight is playing against the walls and heat pulses inward from the patio.
I've just finished revising my draft of the group paper for my current class and have submitted it to the group. Hopefully it won't require too many more changes and will be okay to post.
I'm behind in this class in a multitude of other ways. If I pass, it'll be a miracle. This is why I'm taking another school break through the summer. There's just too much going on with work and the boys.
I'll admit though, that part of it is that I'd rather be outside in the evenings with them, tossing a ball around or hanging out with our friends across the way than sitting inside on the computer slogging away on a paper. I have the best of intentions most evenings, of getting in writing time after the boys are asleep, but invariably, I fall asleep with them/while I'm reading to them and wake up groggy and out of it between 11pm and midnight and stagger to bed instead, effectively knocking out weeknights.
The boys are with me this weekend and I'm looking forward to taking them to the pool in a little while to splash around and have some fun. It's been too long since we had a nice 'lazy' weekend together.
Tomorrow they're going to hang out with my parents, they've been missing Gamma and Gampa and Mom's been missing her grandsons so they get to have a special treat day. Monday we'll spend some more time at the pool and in the afternoon we're heading off to a 4th of July picnic with friends. Tuesday I get to have some one-on-one time with Victor as he's not in school and I've taken the day off to spend with him. I'm thinking more pool time and maybe a movie in Wayne.
