Earlier this month, the kid's TV show "Arthur" aired an episode about a little boy with Aperger's Syndrome. It does a pretty good job of portraying some of the issues that kids with this form of autism have, along with the positives. There's also a sequence in the episode that tries to explain how the world could seem to kids with the syndrome. The sequence focuses on heightened sensitivity to sounds over other higher sensitivities, but it does a pretty good job of situating how strange the world can seem sometimes to kids on the spectrum by using an analogy a lot of kids can understand.
