We finally! After years of searching, indecision, and lots of frustration, closed on a house today. When J and I moved into our apartment three (four?) years ago the neighbor who shared our wall was a renter, and next door was a multi-purpose unit with apartments, an upholstery shop, and a coffee shop that ironically I had my first date at.
