Heard it All Before
J and I put in another offer on a house. As of today we are officially in contract. I'm excited but wary,as we've been here before to have it end in disappointment, but I'm hopeful that this time all will be well. Financially, we're at a point where if the mom has done something stupid or has unpaid bills in my name I'd have the cash to pay it off without affecting the money we're putting toward the house.
We're currently wrapped up in the high paperwork stage, lots of documents being signed and scanned back and forth between parties. I'm hoping all of the banking stuff can be finalized by the end of the week so we can be certain that the house is ours.
While not perfect, there is quite a lot to like about the place, and it covers just about everything on our wish list and is a lot larger than anything we expected to be able to afford. Best of all, we're staying in the neighborhood for the most part, albeit moving across High St. into Italian Village. We're still within walking distance to The Boys and the SN restaurant bar scene, J will still be in close proximity to work with a reasonable bike ride, and my commute will actually shorten.

Not well featured is the full bath on the first floor, third bedroom upstairs, and unfinished walk up attic.
