Going to try something new this month and actually blog, so here goes. J and I had a really great weekend, we both took Friday off and were able to meet up with some friends for dinner followed by ladies 80's at Skullys. Lesson learned: I don't handle cheap beer as well as my wallet would hope, but we still had a great time.
Saturday, J and I got the house together for Sunday's bbq, and then headed to Glass Axis for a demo his teacher was giving. This picture was taken about 30 minutes into the process, and it started out as flat glass tiles that she'd made, and embedded decals in (which is a process in and of itself). She ended up making sort of a patch work heart shaped vessel, which was pretty cool.
I knew what J did was pretty cool, but after sitting in a the studio watching it done live, I have so much more awe and respect for his craft.
Later we met up with most of the same group from Thursday's ruckus at some room parties at Marcon. Marcon really isn't my thing, but overall I had a great time. Sadly, it meant I was tired and hungover during our bbq Sunday, but overall worth it.
We grilled out at
br0ken_b0y and J's again today in a gas vs charcoal cookoff. Sadly, gas won as J was able to get his grill fired up at the tail end of the bbq to grill some corn.
In random spontenaity and desperation from the heat, we also bought a kiddie pool. Best ten dollars I spent all weekend.
Overall, I say this was a great start to the summer, and can't wait to see what other adventures the season may bring.
