st. baldrick's!
so i am now this bald, vegan person, and i apparently really scare/offend my father.
but most other people (people whose opinions actually MATTER to me) seem to love this new look.
it was certainly a fun experience. i really loved being up on the stage, and seeing everyone (meaning even strangers!) yelling and cheering and smiling and being super-encouraging. my shaver was so sweet and motherly. it was awesome.
i like my fuzzy head - i like feeling the breeze, i like when people ask to touch it, i like that my hair can no longer get in my face, i even admit that i like that it's pissed my dad off. i really like the fact that i raised $200 for this amazing nonprofit orgainization, and that i can nonverbally say "eff you!" to anyone who may think that losing your hair (for ANY reason) should make you subject to ostracization or exclusion. bald is beautiful, baby :)
i even got interviewed for the Palm Beach Post! v. exciting.
i hope that my little contribution will go to good use. i hope that i can inspire someone else to do this, the way all the lovely dreyfoos ladies who shaved last year inspired me. i hope that st. baldrick's will exceed that $17 million dollar goal for 2008. if YOU would like to donate, you should check out www.stbaldricks.org RIGHT NOW! look me up - there's a picture and everything.
