Jul 20, 2011 22:19

[Seriously Mae is starting to hate this place. Messing with her mind all the time. She can't find a fail safe anywhere and she's homesick for the wasteland. THE WASTELAND. There is something wrong when you wish you were running away from a super-mutant camp. So she's not expecting much for today either. And then she see's the box by the mailbox. ( Read more... )

[Oh hey, look who's not in a tree yet. Though Crowe approaches her cautiously, looking worried.]

...Mae?

Oh, I'm sorry, I-I just wanted to make sure you were okay.

Just listening to some of the holotapes I have on here.

Oh, that's... that's the thing Lark had, too. [It was strange to see it again.]

[Holds it up so he can see it.]

We get them when we're ten.

[He looks it over.] They do all kinds of things, right? All sorts of readings?

Yeah. There's the radiation counter down there and this is my overall health.

[Starts pointing out things on the main screen.]

It also keeps track of everything you have with you and you can use it to store notes and holotapes. As well as set an alarm and make to do lists.

It picks up radio signals. Has maps of the area as you explore it. And you can use it as a flashlight too.

Wow, that's pretty impressive! Even this can't track radiation or my health. [He fishes his iPhone from his pocket.]

Ah, it's called an iPhone. Does phone, video, photos, text, plays music, and there's a ton of things you can do with them besides. I didn't have it very long before I got to Mayfield so there's not a lot on it. And I can't use any of the phone or text, of course. But it came to me with music from home, and this.

[He opens up the photo album. Inside are pictures he took around his home and at school, of his friends and family.]

Oh wow.

If it's a phone doesn't it have to be connected to something?

They do so wirelessly through signals from towers and satellites. Same with everything it does, really. So I can't do much unless I already had it on here. But it's good all the same. [He'll turn on the music now, starting up a song.]

....is that a radio station?

No, it's, um, a music file. Like a recording.

Recorded music. Oh, like a holodisk?
