Request: Dipper/Norman - Norman is hypersensitive to touch; Dipper finds this out (YES, I AM MAKING YOU WRITE THIS)
For: Kuruk
Notes: again, sorry for lateness. And tameness.

He didn't notice at first.
He didn't notice, because he was too focused on his own panic, his own awkwardness at having someone touch him, someone kiss him. Focused on trepidation and the way shivers ran up the back of his neck, part pleasure and part fear.
But he still feels, even when he doesn't notice, the rough scratch of caught breath when his hand touches Norman's neck, the wave of tension across his back whenever his arms wrap, around his back or his stomach.
And he finally notices, because when he finally pays attention Norman's breath is trembling, a flutter like a bird caught in a storm.
There's something in Norman's skin that quivers every time someone touches him. Even a simple brush, even a casual pat. He's not sure why--it kind of seems strange for someone who can see and feel ghosts go through him--but once he notices, he can't take his eyes off it. Or his hands.
And like with every other fascination of his, he can't manage to have any restraint. He stares when other people touch him, and when they're alone his hands always reach, instinctively, until they make contact and he can feel Norman's warmth. And of course Norman notices, because Norman notices things, and he's making a fool of himself, isn't he? But he's never been good at stopping.
"I'm not going to run, you know," Norman tells him one day when he guiltily pulls back his hand for the nth time. "You can touch all you want."
In a way it makes it worse, but there's challenge in Norman's eyes (of himself? of Dipper?) that makes him stay, raise a hand to caress his face, press the other to the back of his neck. It's not the first time, of course, but this time as he feels the goosebumbs under his fingers there is intent, instead of the furtive touches and kisses of the last weeks. Carefulness, but not hesitation. He traces his jaw, the little cartilage at the root of his ear, and through all of that Norman just breathes, softly, almost inaudible, but Dipper can feel the trembling in his throat.
"Why d'you..." he cuts himself off before he can say something stupid.
Norman's voice is really soft, almost a breath, when he answers.
"I'm not used to it. Even at home..." he pauses, finally looks away. "People don't touch me."
People don't touch the freak. Even when the freak is a hero. Dipper's dense, but not dense enough that he can't read between the lines.
But he wants Norman's eyes on him again. They're pretty and stupidly powerful, and he shouldn't hide them, ever.
So he kisses him. Keeps his two-handed hold and craddles their heads together, keeps kissing lightly until his cheeks nearly hurt with the blood that's pooling in them.
Any minute now he's going to do something stupid and ruin everything, but for now Norman is resting his weight on him and kissing back, and it's worth the embarassment.
