Owie. Why? Why me? Why now?

Seriously... hadn't I JUST gone through this four months ago?

I was in a car accident today.

I was going 40 down Belt Line, and was going through an intersection, and it was, quite decidedly, a green light.
Then, all of a sudden, there was a silver van in front of me.
I had enough time for a mental, wordless explative* and then I hit it.
I wasn't scared when the airbag went off. I wasn't scared when my car kept rolling...
I got scared when smoke started pouring into my face.
Luckily the window was down, but I was worried about some sort of fiery explosion... so I jumped out, and half steered the car as far to the right lane as possible while it was still rolling.
Then I walked over to the curb, sat down, and cried.

A man came over and asked if I was ok and if he should call the police. I told him yes and please. Another came over and helped me push my car out of the street.
It was leaking fluids and was, quite clearly, never going to run again.

So my car is dead. Just as I was starting to really like it.

So I'm carless... yet again.
I DO NOT need this right now. I don't need it ever, but I could've lived with it during the summer. I cannot deal with this right now. I need a car. I need one soon.
This time, preferably, a small SUV with a tow hitch. That way in August I won't have to worry about renting a car.
that and I won't have a huge struggle every time I want to take a big canvas to school. A small two door one would be fine. I don't care if it's ugly.
Please, if you read this, keep your eyes open for such a used vehicle for sale.

I'm ok, btw. I had a burn on my thumb from the airbag, those things are hot when they come out. It hurt all day, but it feels better now after several dozen re-applications of burn gel. It won't blister or scar, so I'll be fine. I have scrapes on my chest and hip where the seat belt got me and a lovely bruise on my knee.
And the stupid fire department.... The guy came over, asked if I was ok. I said yes, but my hand hurt, and felt like it was burned. He asked if I needed to go to the hospital. I said no, but my hand really hurt. He asked if I needed to go to the hospital.
No, Mr. Firefighter, all brawn and no brains, I don't.
But god firbid he offer me some burn cream or even a freaking band-aid for pitty's sake. Shouldn't fire truck be equipped with some sort of minor first aid kit? Shouldn't that be offered to people as well as a ride to the hopital? I was sure the medical response was more then a one-trick pony, but I guess not.

So yeah.

Suck.

*This particular mental cry was something like NO, Shit, and Crap, all rolled into one.

sucky things
