During the Exodus, God makes it clear to the Israelites that "It will come to pass when [they] come to the land which the LORD will give [them], just as He promised..." (Ex. 12:25) that they will continue to keep the Passover in remembrance of their deliverence. Yes, the LORD will protect them, however, there seems to be some conditions:
It shall be as a sign to you on your hand and as a memorial between your eyes, that the LORD’s law may be in your mouth; for with a strong hand the LORD has brought you out of Egypt. You shall therefore keep this ordinance in its season from year to year. (Ex. 13:9-10). Are we doing this? God continues to keep us safe, therefore we are to keep His law in our mouths and be ready to give a defense for Him when we are persecuted. Do we do that? We see that "...the LORD went before them [the Israelites] by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night" (Ex. 13:21) and that at first, the LORD's people began their journey with great boldness. we tend to start out our walks with God that way...but eventually our trust fades a little and we lose sight of the promises He's already made and will indefinitely keep b/c He is God. Lastly, Moses tells the Israelites while the Egyptians are coming after them that "The LORD will fight for [them], and [they] shall hold [their] peace" (Ex. 14:14). Although the Israelites are afraid, they press on through the divided waters and just as they reach the other side, God has Moses raise his hand over the sea and the LORD causes its waters to rush over all of the Egyptians, and "not so much as one of them remained" (Ex. 14:28). let us have peace to know that whatever scary trials are coming at us, God plans to fight them for us, allow us to hold onto our peace, and completely obliterate the enemy.
