It's that time of the half-year again!

Apr 25, 2015 12:20

The time where I endavour to spend most of 24 hours reading books with ! And once again I'll be joined by arca_en_ciel!

It starts at 2 P.M. Paris time and anyone should feel free to join, even last minute. I'll be updating this post throughout the day rather than making new posts, so watch this space.

Have a picture of a small pile of books:

For now the plan is to start with Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secret of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz but that's subject to change.

Update 1, 5pm
I'm reading: Aristotle and Dante, as planned, and I read 243 pages. We has a small coffee and cat petting break too. It's a very very quick book to read.

Update 2, 6:45pm
I finished my first book (106 pages since the last update)! I liked it a lot even if the ending was maybe a little on the nose. But still, sweet, and a bit sad. And now I'll read... something else? Urg.

Update 3, 9pm
I've started The Talented Mister Ripley by Patricia Highsmith but I didn't go far because we had dinner. I'm 50 pages in. Also my computer gave me a fright (no wifi!) and I'm feeling slightly sick because I didn't need that slice of lemon meringue pie. Oh well.

Update 4, 11:30pm
I'm now at page 110, amazing how much slower books go when there isn't so much white on the pages. I'm going to close the computer for tonight, so no other update until morning I think.

Update 5, 11:50am
Mmm, slight fail in that we went to sleep fairly early (midnight for me) and I still managed to sleep pourly so I'm now a zombie. I finished The Talented Mister Ripley though, so yeah! second book! and now I don't know what to pick up to finish the readathon.

Last Update, what do you mean I didn't post that two hours ago before my computer crashed? Damned.
In the last two hours, despite intense sleepiness I managed to read 77 pages of Prudence by Gail Carriger. Then we celebrated with a late lunch of indian food.

Book finished: 2
Pages read: 684
Time spent reading: I didn't track that so well, but I think arround 14 hours?
I feel: better now that I have had a shower and food and coffee and tea and chocolate cake and more tea.

livre, readathon
