pas le meme

Sep 26, 2010 22:21

I'm stuck on the what's in your bag day of the meme. I want to get back on the horse, but the horse is big and fierce. I'll do it.

I want to whine one last time about this - On Friday, on three hours of sleep, I worked my eight-hour shift, then spent six hours rolling tips for distribution among the staff. I think it was my own zombie state that made the tip-rolling so gruelling and extended, but gosh was I ever zonked by the time I got home. Fourteen hours of intense work, eight of it physically demanding and six of it mentally taxing. Phew I am like a hero or something.

It turns out that the amount of time you can work as a barista who never cared about coffee at all before and not become interested in espresso as a potential hobby is about one month. It is a really neat set of skills.

Audra and I had our apartment professionally cleaned on Friday, and I tried to take advantage of that by having some homies over, and some homies did come over (K-L, Jeff, Jex), and it was good fun, even though everyone was droopy lidded to begin with. But yeah we have ascended to the ranks of the bourgeoisie so that's gonna be great.

On Saturday, I ate poutine with filet mignon on it in Little Italy, and took K-L to see Yelawolf open for Wiz Khalifa. I am much more impressed by crazy-spitting southern flows than laid back weed anthems, but Wiz seemed friendlier than Yela, so call it a draw. No, it isn't a draw, Yelawolf rapped circles around the moon. But his set seemed weirdly aggressive for an otherwise goofy-sounding weirdo. I love his Subterranean Homesick Blues interpolation. Yeah for rap!

Today I had dim sum with K-L, K-L's Romps Rebecca, Romps's brother Benjamin, and Benjamin's partner Megalie. I should be reminded more often that there is good food in my neighborhood, where I feel I never know where to eat.

Oh yeah amazing desserts too at that place that lets you keep the bowl. I am rambling because I am close to passing out!

The house is spotless even though the cats tried to barf it up on me. No way, cats, I will win this war. I'm looking forward to keeping my home nice. Never cluttering it up again, never making a mess. No problem.

Audra has been away this weekend and I miss her. I will see her again soon and that's great.

Last weekend I took my little homie Isobel (age 7) to see Yo Gabba Gabba Live! with Biz Markie(!!!) and that's a long story but I still want to tell you it but I am passsing out at this minute so good night to you my friend, of whom I am so fond.

Good night.
