Updates...
I am finally back online!!! I didnt get the computer unpacked right away, and once I had it was only to find out that my DSL wasnt working. Upon calling the phone company I had to wait longer with the error eventually being on their end. This however they did not admit to, but I discovered upon not having gotten a call back from the technician as I was told to expect, and simply trying to log on again before calling to whine at them.
Anyway...Life is good, what more can I say.
John and I are pretty well moved into our new place in Hartland (Yes, boxes of things I dont want to deal with right now are hiding in every nook and cranny of the place). It is so beautiful out here, I dont miss the city at all. I miss my friends though, but am not that far away. Ended the old crappy job, and started the new job within the last week. I am a Recreation Assistant at one of Goodwills Human Service Centers. I am at a Day Center for Seniors with Developmental Disabilities. Today we planted flowers, and tomorrow the Zoo! I know, I know, what a horrible job I have! Its been great so far, tomorrow Ill have been there a full week. I have been in and out of trainings and orientations, but have met and know the majority of the participants. All participants are Medium to High functioning, so the job is not all fun and glamour. There are some that require help with feeding and toileting (which I thankfully havent had to do yet but Im told my day is approaching quickly) but with the cons of the job there are just so many pros that outweigh them. There has already been talk of promotions, so the fact that Ill be able to advance within Goodwill is a huge plus. I also will have health and dental benefits, some tuition reimbursement for when I go back to school, as well as finally having a decent paying full time job that is related to my degree. Everything still seems slightly unreal, with everything having happened at once. But thus far I am really happy and things just feel "right." John and the Kitties are also very happy with all of the changes. I cant wait for my first paycheck...I am beyond broke right now.
Well, its getting late and I still havent eaten dinner. I hope to talk to and see everyone again soon. Hopefully once we have settled in a litte more we can host a movie night. Will probably do it on a Saturday maybe since we are further away, and that way people wont have to work the next day. Ill let everyone know when were ready for one!
