Yuletide Assignment: <5000 words, posted
Treat #1: <7000 words, needs editing
Treat #2: <4000 words, in progress
Treat #3: <3500 words, in progress
My fear is less "Will I beat my previous Yuletide word count record?" and more "OMG, will I finish these long fics in time?" At some point I'll have to reteach myself the fine art of the short fic, but editing the novella is next after Yuletide. *hands* I want to yammer on about what I'm writing so much, but alas, that will have to wait until after reveals.
Still haven't determined the number of words I want to pledge for Get Your Words Out 2016. I'm leaning toward 150,000 words again so I can edit without worrying about falling behind on my word count. I love the GYWO spreadsheet and I'm learning to pace myself based on my schedule rather than 150k words/365 days, but seeing a large deficit build up still makes me twitchy. Somehow I've transformed into an overachiever who likes to finish weeks ahead of deadline. If my high school self could see me now...
In non-writing news, I spent three hours cooking this morning. I made dinner for the next few days (Spanish paella with baked butternut squash) and lunch (Chinese chicken noodle soup). Fingers crossed that it's enough food to see me through the massive amount of holiday baking I'll be doing next weekend. I need to buy a bread pan so I can make this
sweet orange cinnamon pull apart bread, which looks to die for. Also on the agenda is Smitten Kitchen's popcorn cookies. Popcorn! In a cookie!
