Dear Yuletide 2015
Dear Yuletide Author,
Congratulations! You're great and I would hug you if I could. I'm certain that I will love and adore whatever you write me! Yuletide is probably my favorite fannish time of year. Celebrating awesome things: always wonderful! You can also find me on my perpetually on hiatus tumblr if you'd like more of a sense of my preferences/personality/etc. I'm much more active on my locked Twitter, unfortunately, but
fahye is an excellent judge of what I enjoy.
In general, I like banter (witty or otherwise), ladies being awesome, ladies being friends, happy endings, bittersweet endings, character vignettes, domesticity, daring capers, literary references (if appropriate), families (found and biological), friendship, and seemingly unrequited love becoming requited at last. Obviously, all of these do not have to be in one fic! I'm a warm, fuzzy person, but I don't object to dark and twisty if it fits the canon. If I've requested a canon, chances are that I like the tone of the source material!
I don't care for graphic depictions of violence, especially child harm. (I'm including rape in my definition of "violence.") That's the big one, but I'm also not fond of A/B/O or character-bashing. I love kidfic, but I work with kids, so I'd prefer you write kidfic only if you can make the kids sound like their age.
Note: Some of my fandom notes are much longer than others. That doesn't mean I prefer one canon over the other! The longer canons just mean more for me to ruminate about.
Hamilton - Miranda
Eliza Schuyler Hamilton (Hamilton - Miranda), Angelica Schuyler (Hamilton - Miranda), Margarita "Peggy" Schuyler (Hamilton - Miranda), Alexander Hamilton (Hamilton - Miranda)
Optional Details: I truly, madly, deeply adore everything about the Schuyler sisters in the musical. Eliza is a lady in every sense of the word: kind, decorous, and possessed of the quiet determination that keeps a household running. Angelica combines fierce intelligence, pragmatism, and compassion to become a woman who will never be satisfied with the limits of polite society. Peggy presents very much as the baby of the family in the musical, but she's right there singing work, work with her sisters, who I imagine she idolizes despite fearing the violence of revolution. I would read anything about the relationship between the sisters: growing up together, seeing each other through the Revolutionary War, an AU where some or all of them are superheroes, ANYTHING.
If sister feelings aren't your thing, I am fascinated by the Eliza-Alexander-Angelica relationship. I would love to read about it as a poly V, with Angelica and Eliza knowingly sharing Alexander. Eliza and Angelica adore each other, and each sister complements a different side of Alexander. How might their lives have changed if they had followed their hearts? No sisterly incest, please!
Oh God, where do I even begin with the Schuyler sisters? They are all such forces of nature! Angelica is the one always in the spotlight, of course, as the oldest and wittiest. She's clearly frustrated by her role in society (I'ma compel him to put women in the sequel!) and I love the tragedy of her dissatisfaction as much as it tears my heart out. I adore that the musical sympathizes with Angelica's plight without ever disparaging the traditionally feminine. Eliza is nurturing and gracious; even her anger is kept close, nobody else's business but hers. Her love is no less fierce than Angelica's, but she expresses herself very differently. (Helpless versus Satisfied, except it's never a competition.) Both sisters always knew the world was wide enough for both of them, something another famous pair never learned until it was too late.
And Peggy! We don't get much of her in canon, but that just leaves room for character-building. Does she feel compelled to be more like one sister than the other? Is it hard for her to forge her own way as the youngest? Since it doesn't appear in the musical, this is totally optional, but actual Peggy Schuyler single-handedly saved a baby and both of her pregnant sisters and actually inspired my "what if SUPERHEROES?" prompt. But seriously, tell me anything about the Schuyler sisters. ♥
As for the Angelica-Alexander-Eliza poly V, it's practically right there in the musical. If you really loved me, you would share 'im! Then "Take a Break" sounds like... exactly that scenario! (Why, Alexander, why didn't you go?) I'm intrigued by the notion of Alexander as Macbeth and Angelica as Lady Macbeth, a tragedy narrowly averted by Eliza's influence on both. The comparison is imperfect because Angelica is far kinder a woman than Lady Macbeth, but her ambitions certainly are stifled. I'm open to fic where they learn to navigate the poly V in canon or a modern day AU that allows Angelica's talents to shine as brightly as Alexander's.
SUPER BONUS CROSSOVER IDEA: The Schuyler sisters meet Felicity Merriman of American Girl fame! Then somehow they all steal a horse with HERCULES MULLIGAN! And then both my inner child and my outer adult clap their hands in sheer glee.

Larissa "Lardo" Duan, Shitty Knight
Optional Details: Lardo/Shitty mashes all of my "best friends turned lovers" buttons. I love that Lardo somehow balances being hockey team manager, majoring in art, and totally crushing all those who dare challenge her at flip cup. I love Shitty's clothing optional soft bro ways. Tell me everything about them! How did they first become friends? When did they first fall madly in love? What do they do on school breaks when they hang out in Boston? (I live in Boston, and would enjoy some local flavor!) What's the story behind this adorable comic extra?
If ship fic isn't your thing, one of my favorite things about Check, Please! is how much the team is like a big, unruly family. (I mean, this comic extra is when I knew that this comic was truly For Me.) Lardo or Shitty's perspective on Haus shenanigans would be A+++.
Most of my attempts to explain why I love Lardo/Shitty devolve into me making animal noises and lying on the metaphorical floor, which really fits them as a pairing! I love that Shitty and Lardo are super into exploring gender expression in hockey culture... and then turn around and smoke weed while mostly naked (Lardo) and completely naked (Shitty). Their personalities are complementary too, with Lardo's dry wit and Shitty's overwrought soft bro sincerity. Together, they prank their teammates and make tub juice!! They also do completely sweet things for each other, like eat the gross gummy bears (Lardo) and glue bling on sculptures (Shitty).
I didn't include any other characters because I wanted Lardo 'n' Shitty fic so badly, but I adore the rest of the team and ship Jack/Bitty. I also love to bake and compulsively buy emergency baking supplies. If you're searching for a gen prompt, how about Bitty gets OFFENDED by the brownie part of Lardo and Shitty's pot brownie recipe and the pair of them end up getting a baking education? (And then they get baked, amirite.)

Optional Details: Since "Bad Blood" is tragically not a full-length feature film, I trust fandom to step in. Tell me the story of this semi-futuristic world. What's going on with this mysterious organization for deadly lady assassins? Why are Catastrophe and Arsyn trying to steal a briefcase, and what makes Arsyn betray Catastrophe? Why does everyone at the organization side with Catastrophe--does Arsyn join their deadly enemies? Tell me a story about one or some or all of these women and how they came to be, how they joined up, how they developed their individual specialties. Femslash of any sort is welcome.
What it says on the tin, y'all! As a fan of Kill Bill and the music video for Lady Gaga's "Telephone," I am all over this futuristic dystopia of lady assassins. I'm impressed by how the video presents EIGHT MILLION CHARACTERS and makes them distinctive through costuming and weaponry. I am super into sexy friends-turned-enemies (Catastrophe/Arsyn), sexy boxing (Catastrophe/Knockout), sexy biker chicks (Catastrophe/Domino), sexy teacher mentors (Justice/Luna), and sexy everyone/everyone. Gen-wise, what is UP with this world? Why is the Trinity three people? Who is Headmistress? How do we convince Taylor Swift that this needs to be a full-length movie?

Cha Song Joo
Optional Details: The world can never, ever have enough Cha Song Joo fic in it. I love her elegance, her mischievous streak, and the deep passions she conceals under her mask of indifference. She sacrifices so much of herself to her cause--I can't imagine how she feels to see her image on all of the pro-Japanese government posters. A few prompts to get you started: Song Joo at weapons practice, or teasing Woo Wan, or dressing up Yeo Kyeong in another fashionable outfit, or sharing a quiet moment with Soo Hyeon.
♥CHA SONG JOO♥! I would welcome ship fic (I loved her relationship with Soo Hyeon) or friendship fic, either with Woo Wan or Yeo Kyeong or the other courtesans. I would welcome modern AUs, canon AUs in which [spoiler] doesn't happen, or backstory! This show was my first k-drama and it certainly lived up to the hype.
SUPER BONUS CROSSOVER IDEA: If you are also a fan of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, can you even imagine the trouble Cha Song Joo and Phryne Fisher could get into? It would be AMAZING.

Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries
Phryne Fisher (Miss Fisher), Jack Robinson (Miss Fisher), Elizabeth MacMillan (Miss Fisher)
Optional Details: Two words: sex toys. I found the sex toys episode of S3 so amusing, from Phryne's immediate recognition of the devices, to Jack's wry admission that he sort of knew what they were for, to Mac just laughing at the pair of them. I would welcome fic in which Phryne teaches Jack the uses of such devices with open... arms.
If you were hoping to write something more G-rated for Yuletide, I am quite happy to read fic about Phryne and Jack flirting their way across the globe after S3. I also adore Mac, so friendship fic featuring Phryne and Mac or even Mac and Jack would delight my heart.
Oh goodness. Jack and Phryne make me feel like all three of Gaston's girlfriends fanning themselves. I love how fond they are of each other, and how that shines through all the flirting, the occasional angst, and their determination to solve crimes. I love that neither one ever has the upper hand on the other, that it's not even the point of the way they flirt with each other. It's all about the thrill of the game, played with someone you trust implicitly with the important things. I would love to see this dynamic explored with Phryne introducing Jack to the joys of certain devices, but I would also love to see it explored in a more G-rated fashion if that's not your thing.
Which is NOT to say I want Phryne/Jack fic more than Mac fic. Is there a person alive who doesn't love Mac? I would love to see her having a happy relationship with a lady, sex toys fun but optional. I would love to see her having a night on the town with Phryne. I would love backstory fic! Basically, I LOVE MAC in all her dry-witted butch glory and would read 50,000 words about her adventures. Except, er, please do not feel obligated to spend NaNoWriMo creating a Mac fic for me.

Diomika Tsing, Razo
Optional Details: If I had to choose the two characters I would most like to get their own spinoffs, they would be Diomika Tsing and Razo. How did Captain Tsing ascend (har, har) to her post? She's clearly a character with a strong moral compass, demonstrated by her willingness to help Jupiter. Is this more of a rogue position, or would the entire Aegis force like to see the Abrasax family cease harvesting planets? What about the loyalty Captain Tsing commands from her crew? How did she make that happen?
Razo has the coolest hair, and she's also a master at double-dealing. How did she become a bounty hunter? Are she and Ibis partners, or were they working together for just the one mission? What are they going to do with all that RegeneX? Inquiring minds want to know!
Do you even know how obsessed with Jupiter Ascending I would have been if the movie had come out in 1995 instead of 2015? Space adventures, awesome lady characters, ridiculous plot holes begging for fan fixes... this movie has it all! I specifically asked for Captain Tsing and Razo because canon gives us so little, but I loved the whole ridiculous ensemble. Include anyone you like!
